Without a doubt, there is no better way to showcase your knowledge and skills than having your own blog. This is especially true for freelance workers. Originally created to be a sort of diary, blogging has grown to become a national pastime. People blog about everything from what they wore last night to the latest political news. That’s the beauty of having a blog. You can do or say whatever you want and there is bound to be someone out there that is interested in reading about it.
So how does blogging fit into personal and professional branding? It helps create your persona. People get to know you or your business on a more personal level. They see things that can’t be gleaned from reading a piece of paper. They are privy to your attitudes, ideas, and personality. These are things that have come to be expected from consumers and even prospective employers. They want to know who you are and what you can offer them.
This week we are interviewing @BloggerFly from Blogging Butterfly. We’ll be asking them about tips for newbies, why they started blogging, and how social media fits into the blogosphere.
